Diary Entry – 05th January 2024

One of the things that came up last night in the live chat was about motorhome air conditioning and whether we had invested in this essential feature.. We spoke for about 5 minutes on the subject explaining just how good it is and how we could not have coped without it. Sentence(s) after: We spoke for about 5 minutes on the subject, explaining just how essential motorhome air conditioning is, particularly when motorhoming with kids, and how we could not have coped without it. That is even in winter in Morocco but as we emerge into Spring towards March and February then it will come into its own and really prove its worth. I was explaining that, as part of our motorhoming with kids adventure, the lack of an extractor in the middle of the van over the kitchen meant that you need the air con in the middle of the van to get the best effect that i needed a hole cut in the middle of my roof. When people talk about trusting a company, that is how much i trust the guys at A and E Lesiure to let them go and take a big square out of my motorhome roof.

We threw the towel in on dry January and replaced it with dry working days of January. This week has been a long one, and it’s times like these when camping with families that you appreciate a relaxing evening with a few beverages.. In order to facilitate said beverages ended up as a taxi run to the Uni Prix to pick 52 Corellis and a birthday presents for one of the guys who is on site. We are going out for a meal on Monday afternoon at a new restaurant that has opened close by called “Bamboo” i think it is supposed to be a Thai restaraunt but im not a big fan of Thai so i will no doubt be having something basic.

The guy who’s birthday it is Tom has been coming here for about 20 years to Morocco and he says he cannot believe how many English people there are here these days. He said that when he first started coming over there was none and now there lots and lots. I am not sure whether the increase in motorhoming here is because the taboo of coming here has gone or whether since Brexit people have just identified here as there preferred 90 day bolt hole i don’t know. Although, even with our limited experience of being here it does definitely seem as though there are more English people here. I do remember probably in April time though there was maybe 6 or 7 UK vans in a row along this street but that was when it was quieter so you could get more folk together.
