Diary Entry – 25th February 2023

Its a bit surreal to think i have been doing these diary entries once a day now since the beginning of December. Almost 3 months and still going strong, i do worry that it does get a bit repetitive. That also got me thinking i wonder who read the first ever one? And if there is anyone that has read every single entry. Anyway, back to business. The weather forecast had stitched us up good and proper today. It said there will be a bit of rain in the morning but then nice after, it never ceases to amaze me just how wrong these guys can get stuff. The weather was unbelievably bad, everything had been left outside like chairs, tables, because we just thought it would get a bit damp and then it would dry off in the African sun. In order for the sun to dry stuff off it has to stop raining….

There is only so much time you can sit in our camper before the walls start closing in. So we had a decision to make, the rain was due to stop later which meant stuff could dry off but it was going to rain through the night meaning we would have to pack up tonight anyway. I didn’t fancy staying an extra night so we decided to take the hit on the 2nd night at Kenitra and head south to try and catch a bit of sun and rough out the next day which was forecast to be crap everywhere. SO i packed everything up absolutely soaked it was, but packed it all away and headed through some small towns where there was some of the worst flooded roads that we had to drive through. An eye opening experience.

It has certainly been an experience so far in Morocco and i am not sure if it is for me, but that first 24 hours where we went from 0 – full on Morocco in 2.9 seconds so maybe i just need to take a bit of a step back and start to ease myself back in. It is strange because the moment we got to the new site called L’Ocean Blue which was recommended to us by the couple that we met in Kenitra and it was a an excellent recommendation. The site instantly relaxed me, the staff spoke English and almost immediately i was a lot more calmer. We got here and the sun was shining we got the sun canopy out and got our stuff out and had a pleasant evening and i felt a million dollars.

Hi Rich/Lisa, we have been reading your diary entries since we navigated the social media platforms. We read them each pm in our caravan as we drink our rose wine and cheese and crackers😁
The videos are great and really keep us entertained, not too sure about Morocco though!!! Keep them coming and stay safe. Xx

  2. Glad you made it this far and found a very different Morocco to me.
