It’s Valentine’s Day!! We had big big plans today get up early get off site and try and dust off 3 of Portugals top natural wonders including some caves etc. We were up early, i went down to reception to get some change for a quick laundry cycle. I got down there and the cash machines were out of order, so I had to go back up to the camper to get a debit card as the only cash machine was in a supermarket about a mile away.
So I picked the wee man up and headed off to the shop. Cash collected and we went back to the camper, I’d forgotten to pick tokens up. So back to reception to get them. This seemed to be the theme for the day. Packing away seemed to take an eternity as well and despite our best efforts we were still at Camping Albufeira at 12:30 so we had no where near enough time so we opted to head in the total opposite direction we should be headed in. Instead of where we will end up going which is east, we headed west towards Sagres/ Vila de Bispo.
We ended staying on a very peculiar park up near a place called Salema. We stayed on pitch 3 on the site it was 8 euro for the night and 1 euro for our electric. We went into Salema and ate a restaurant on the sea front called Atlantico. I had lamb stew and it was brilliant. It had bits and everything and I ate the lot. We got our heads down early at 9pm but I was awoken by rain and some of the loudest thunder I’ve heard for ages. Proper rasping thunder, the cracking type. It was the first time Iv heard thunder in the camper, Rory slept through it, Lisa pretty much slept through it. It was just little old me listening to the storm.
