The answer to the previous question was that it wasn’t quite as busy as we would have liked but when you have days like yesterday then it would never quite compare. I hate pack down day of a show. To be fair i was better equipped for it this time as me and Lisa were in bed for 21:30 and so was the Dodge and Gina/ Jen (probably best not to ask). The Camptech Rep, Outdoor Rev rep and Kian (the A and E young lad) went into the arena area to watch the music. I was in my motorhome and i couldn’t believe how loud the music was. Me and Lisa sat there like old codgers moaning because of loud music.
As you can imagine me and the Dodge were the first ones to the stand. When the other woke up they said that after the loud music had finished at 11 that party mode had set in and they opted to get a taxi into Northwich and got back about 2am but Kian didnt get back until 5am. SO i gave him a knock up at 08:45 so he knew it was time to get up and get to work. As a gesture of goodwill i gave him a bonus 15 minutes so at 09:00 it was time to get him up. I knocked on his door, no answer and he didnt stir so i opened the door and beeped his horn. That got him moving and he then peeled himself from his pit.
The worse thing about today is trying to pack all the awnings away whilst trying to serve people and trying to sell the demos so we didn’t have to bring them home. All whilst keeping one eye on the weather so we don’t get stitched up in torrential rains like we did at Camper Jam. To be fair we are only 20 minutes away and we had sold most of the demos already so i was optimistic for a relatively respectable finish. But the rain came about 4pm and it was torrential, AGAIN. But we were definitely better prepared for it this time. Well, i say we were, the Dodge got his van and caravan stuck and Stephens electric Kia had broken down but our 2010 Chausson on the good old reliable Fiat Ducato base fired up first time round and off we went to A and E to ditch the stuff. That is show season over for us all, and what a show season it has been.
