What a long ass day this has been. Literally have not stopped all day. As we mentioned yesterday evening the plan today is get into Ness and Gee’s motorhome, work from the beach then head to Agadir to find the Uniprix to buy booze, then make our way to a new campsite to have a look around and sea (pun intended) what it was like before a potential move. So we were up early as usual I went and did the dishes like many previous days. I start work at 10am so i wanted us to leave by no later than 09:30 to make sure we got here in plenty of time to get my table out, Jackery out and solar panel out so i wasn’t going to run low on battery. To be fair we did pretty good today were ready and the Van packed by 09:20. Gee had kindly emptied his grey waste and toilet in case we needed to use the bathroom as the facilities at the beach are somewhat archaic. When we got to the beach the sun was bright and there were about 7 dogs and as we were the first there we got all of there attention. I do love dogs so much and it does break my heart to see so many strays. The saving grace is that they all look well fed to be fair. None look really hungry.
By about 10:15 there was a sweeping mist that came onto the beach and it literally stayed all day, you could make the sun out above but it was so misty. I have never seen anything like it. It was so so weird. As it got towards 2 o’clock it cleared, there was a small beach restaurant that Ness and Gee went to the previous day so we headed there for dinner. We all ordered chicken skewers and i order 2 mains because i am a gannet and i had a burger. Thank god I did, the chicken was actually fish, not sure whether it is Ramadan related but the service has certainly dropped over the last few days everywhere.
After food we headed to the Uniprix which is a French shop in Agadir, we were recommended here as it has a big selection of beers and wines etc cheaper than the Carrefour. When we arrived it was shut, annoyingly but there was a gaggle of French people all suffering from the same disappointment. A lot of the time you feel like not speaking French or Arabic that your at fault or you have done something wrong or made a mistake. So it was nice (in a selfish way) to see Frenchie’s missing out also. After a handful of minutes a guy from the site came drove past as he was supposed to be heading there as well. The rumour on the street was that the owner had died!! He told us of a sneaky place off the beaten track where you can get beer so we headed down there and got a positive result.
The new campsite we scoped out looks brilliant and almost instantly Ness was up for moving. Not sure when or if we will move but will run it through with the gaffer and see what she thinks.
