Diary Entry – 26th April 2023

So the saga rumbles on, we waited patiently for someone to call us as we had reserved a Motorhome at the unspecified dealer and we didn’t hear anything until 4pm in the afternoon. We had to ring them and try to get hold of someone who was dealing with it. They managed to track the guy who told us about the Motorhome and we explained about the part ex. What is even funnier is that this was the same guy who we were trying to deal with the first time before the MH had been reserved. So straight away we thought we may be struggling. He explained that he was still waiting for the “caravan guy” to let him know the part ex on the caravan. The guy said that he was going to speak to someone and get someone to call us back tomorrow as he was off.

So still no closer to getting this sorted. The benefit of this debacle is that it means we have viewed probably, and this is not an exaggeration, probably 10 million motorhomes. The thing is we have some red lines that we want, things like 2 fixed beds , so and over cab bed and a bed in the back. Having been in the Transit now I want fixed beds that don’t impede on the living space in the van. The thought also of being able to wake up and sit down somewhere inside is very appealing. Lisa has already started planning what the inside is going to look like. With working remotely as well i just love the thought of working somewhere for the day, no packing up, no pack down, just engine on and drive to the next stop. It just gives us so much freedom where as if the weather is ever bad in the camper then we will really struggle.

When we come back to Morocco if we have a motorhome I am going to work from some incredible locations I have some of them planned, like the proper desert. Beaches, mountains, waterfalls it is going to be brilliant. If we don’t get a MH then we will stick with the camper but like I have said before we will pack it up knowing that we are coming somewhere for the winter (6 months) so will pack accordingly things like a microwave, air fryer, a portable collapsible washing machine and spinner. We would fly down down to Morocco in 5 days but stay in hotels until we got to site. It is mad to think that the Beef will be 12 months by then.
