Pre show day today and it is one of the more stressful ones. If you can imagine getting handed 3 pieces of paper with probably 150 odd items on it. We are not renowned for out tidiness in the warehouse so sometimes you can spend an age looking for something that is no longer in stock or something is in a totally different places than what it should. I’m used to it now, you become a bit immune to it all i’m now a bit of a show veteran having done a couple already. This however will be my first Dubbed Festival, the good thing about this one is that it is literally down the road from us. So if we need to get more stuff then it is a short Luton van drive away.
We had a full squad in shop today and all hands to the pump. Whilst i was grafting Mummy was off doing important tasks of her own such as doing the laundry and doing a bit of shopping. The downside of motorhoming is that it becomes a bit of a faff to drive anywhere. I have coped pretty well so far with the driving but ultimately i hate “just nipping somewhere” in the Moho it is a total pain. Today is one of those 5pm finishes that the Dodge talks about which is actually 7pm.
Last time we were prepping for a show i couldn’t do the full picking as i had that appointment with my Mum so this time it was mostly on me. I always hold myself to high standards but the Dodge is a bit of a perfectionist and the Outdoor Rev is a total perfectionist. For example every awning has to be 3 peg widths away from the one next to it, he wont let other people peg out the corners. He says he has OCD which to be fair actually probably sounds about right because if your doing anything Outdoor Rev and it is not perfect then you can guarantee that he is making you do it again. I don’t mind that to be fair, because he is consistent. The challenge for me is when people are perfectionist when they want.
