I’m a nightmare for once i know what the plans are just wanting to crack on and get it done. So it is official now we leave on Friday afternoon and try and make our way as close to Calais as possible. It is a 9 hour drive but in our Moho and doing a steady 60mph will probably take us closer to 11 or 12 hours to get the journey done. As i always say we are never in to much of a rush so whether it takes an extra hour or so doesn’t really matter. On drives like this we will drive until i get tired and then pull over and we always plan a few potential stop overs dependant on how long i can go for.
If we can make it as far as Poitiers then i will be well chuffed. That will be about the limit of what we can do in an evening. I will load myself with full fat coke to keep me ticking over. If we can leave 6 or 7 hours of driving on the Saturday then we are in a good place. Aiming to get the crossing on Saturday afternoon. The only thing we have not planned for yet is where we will stay on the Saturday night. The trip from Dover to Cofton is an awful one and dont think i will make it there in time so we will need to stay somewhere on the way but once again close enough so that in the morning we are not too far from Cofton.
May even try and make it to the Sainsburys car park and kip on there and get some shopping in first thing. I want bacon and sausages and English food. I know everything abroad is better but i do love getting back to the shores of England and getting some really unhealthy processed meat with things like Spaghetti hoops as well. Oh, and waffles. And a Sunday dinner, they do a carvery at Cofton on a Sunday so i want to be there for that as well!
