Today has been literally one of the most unpleasant days of my life and something i promise you i will not do again. EVER!! To be fair i slept ok last night 3 pints of Birra Moretti always helps me drift off and when i woke there was an amazing sun rise which literally was the calm before the storm. We had heard many stories from people about how awful this crossing could be and boy did it live up to its reputation. It was horrendous. Everything was fine until about 8am ish and then i got up and took some pictures and had a walk about on the boat and started to feel unwell so i stumbled back to the room and before 9am id been sick. So i just lay in bed in the dark with a t-shirt over my eyes making it dark.
Lisa kindly offered to make her way to the on boat shop to get some sea sickness tablets whilst i was feeling unwell. Unbeknown to me on her way down she had been sick and had to be helped by a lady who worked on the boat. They gave her some tablets and Lisa made it to the shop to buy the anti sickness wrist bands. After an hour or so i felt ok enough to get up and go to the boat nurse who provided me with some anti sickness tablets. I swallowed 2 of them and we both headed back to the room. I decided whilst in the lift that perhaps a pint would make me feel better again. When we went down to the shop the bar area was quite full with people having pints so i thought that would be the best thing to do.
After about an hour and 2 or 3 pints i felt ok, Mum on the other hand was still struggling so left me in the bar area talking to a nice guy about living in Portugal. They moved there a few years ago and i spent a few hours having pints and chatting away whilst Mum was back in the room. Around 7pm she came back out to me and she didn’t look great, I advised her to take some tablets which she did in the end but she never really got any better. I had another couple of pints then went back to the room. There was to be an alarm at 5:45am to wake people up to let them no it is time to get up. I also have a big day of driving tomorrow.
