I am a lucky man today i have pretty much been left to me own devices editing and doing other social work whilst Lisa has been in charge of the Wee Man. My legs don’t hurt from yesterday yet which i find strange but it is normally 2 days when it gets you so tomorrow is judgement day really. We are moving over the border tomorrow and we are planning on heading down towards Braga, the good news is that we are a couple of days ahead of schedule so if we find that special place then we can allow extra time there, I would rather be ahead than behind. The challenge we have is that it is quite chilly in the night time here, I appreciate it is bloody freezing at home but when it is 13 degrees in the day and then 4 or 5 at night it is noticeable, but i want to start staying on some free spots now but in my opinion it is just a bit too cold for Rory if it was 8+ i am just about ok with a big winter suit and sleeping bag and blankets but 5 is just a bit too low for me. Hopefully as it warms up and we move south then our reliance on a night heater will diminish.
Not only was i allowed the day to edit i was even allowed to take my rod out when we went for an evening walk, managed about 30 minutes. I have not caught anything yet but it is the taking part that counts. I love fishing i do so this for me, in the sun was brilliant. But Jesus it goes cold when the sun goes in. Felt like a mountain goat trying to get down to the waters edge on these big rocks and managed to find a rock to sit on but then a wave splashed on a rock in front of me and soaked my foot so that was like a block of ice for the remainder of the trip.
Had the money talk today, looking at the numbers we have enough to last about another 6 or 7 months as things stand. So come March one of us or both of us will look for a digital nomad job. I potentially have one lined up but will see how it goes. It will have to coincide with the trip so needs to be flexible but we will start looking in March time. For the next few months i am going to live for the moment. Me and Lisa have both said how much we would like to live in Spain, it is such a lovely place. I hope you all had a nice Monday.
