We are entering now our last week in France and honestly i say it a bit but wow this 5 weeks has gone so quick. We go here at the end of August and now we are looking in the eyes of October. It has been nice to see the seasons change in a different place for a change but Autumn is well and truly is Biscarosse now. There is a chill i the morning and you can just feel it in the air. It is nice. I love Autumn.
I seldom say this, but having now spent 4 weeks odd in France i can honestly place my hand on my heart and say “Mum, i was wrong”. You were right. I am sorry for doubting you. When i let my Mum know what our first stage plans were IE go into Europe and maybe stay in France for a month or so she said “It will be expensive in France”. I replied stubbornly “Mum, there is no way it can be more expensive that the UK”. My patriotism having totally drained over the last 6 months where i have discovered that pretty much everything in the UK is crippled or already on its knees.
But Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey is France expensive. On everything, fuel, food, chicken, ham. Like in Morocco for example some stuff is about the UK price and then there is stuff that is cheaper obviously local stuff like fruit etc. In France everything is expensive. Pack of Ham your looking at £5 or £6 3 chicken breasts the same. We have really had to budget and done ok at it but it has been unbelievable to see how expensive it is. Should we have driven further and gone to Spain is the big question.
Yes we’re in France now and finding the same , very expensive. We’ve found meat to be very costly, think we might be vegetarian by the time we get back to uk 😂
