Diary Entry – 22nd April 2023

Another windy day due again today, so my day starts as always putting the sun canopy out and putting up the red and white panels we got made. The days always start off so nice and it is definitely warmer than previous days. When it is windy here a lot of the time the wind is so warm and that is what raises the temperature of where we are, the warm wind. You will never guess where the nicest restaurant is in the whole of Taghazout? In a petrol station, just outside of the campsite and it is where all the locals eat and that is normally a good sign. You can just tell as you walk in, it is so so so clean and air conditioned. It has only just reopened because of Ramadan and it was packed tonight. Lisa has chicken skewers and i had the big burger. Lisa’s was lovely and my wasn’t to my taste, probably tried to over complicate the burger. It wasn’t like a beef burger it was more of a haiche steak so was quite dry and the meat was quite compact. Id go back in heart beat and have a mixed grill or a kebab.

Boris the cat has gone soft!! A few times now he has let me stroke him and he is certainly becoming more friendly, when he sleeps in our safari tent, and i get up he follows me to the toilet or what ever and guards the pitch from other cats. That is more than likely to stop any other cats eating his food or befriending us. The second the camper door opens he is straight up to me and purring around my legs it is very cute. Like i said before i am not a cat person really but if i was Boris would be a good cat. We have since discovered he must have a bit of a circuit because Mel and Alan next door feed him, Ness and Gee have started giving him milk and there is a little German boy that always walks around the campsite with some cat food looking for cats to feed.

We did another walk today but this time we all went normally Lisa doesn’t bother as it is too hot but i have explained several times that the wind down on the front make it much easier to walk. We once again set the target at Taghazout (10km) but once again we don’t make it that far we reach the Hyatt and have a drink and walk back. Today is according tot he weather reports the last day of wind so i will be glad to see the back of it but that means that is is due to be hot. Getting hotter over the coming days until a bit of storm (which never seems to happen) on Friday. I still have not seem a proper big storm so hopefully get one of them before we leave.
