Made the big mistake by just assuming that Spain in May would still be warm enough to be outside from the crack of dawn. Oh wow was I wrong, it was 5 degrees over night and there was no electric pitches when we got there and it was absolutely freezing. It was literally absolutely freezing. The first i had been cold in the night, the coldest we had ever camped without electric. The Beef was non the wiser and he was snug as a bug as a rug. His wee hands were a bit chilly but he was delightful when he woke. I was starting work at 8am and i was sitting outside with 2 hoodies, my all season fishing coat and my DryRobe on as well. I was struggling to type because my hands were so cold.
The worse thing was that the internet was absolutely garbage, we were offered and electric pitch today but we turned it down yesterday and there was absolutely no way I wasn’t going to go and see them and move my camper. SO we found a pitch and then drove the camper with the pop top up and put the camper facing the sun and put the heater on full whack because i didn’t want to be cold again. This had been a crashing back down to earth from the joy of Moroccan weather. There must be easily 15 degrees difference in the morning. However, you can buy a beer 100 yards from your pitch. So it swings in round abouts.
Despite the cold i was really impressed with this site and what was funny as well was that there was quite a lot of English people as well so it felt a bit more like home. In Morocco we were always a huge minority so the further we got the greater the numbers. Looking at the weather forecast it is going to be the same for the rest of the week, it is just the mornings that are bitterly cold. But by 11am it is plenty warm enough to be just in my shorts and tshirt. I suppose this is the new norm that i need to be getting used to.
