Diary Entry – 16th June 2023

We spent last night on our seasonal pitch but in the Camper and it is strange because the pitch feels huge now, but when the caravan and full awning were on it it seemed smaller. Never mind, I could feel the massive weight lifted off my shoulders now that the caravan had gone. It was another hurdle down whilst we wait to get the Moho which is now only 10 sleeps away. To say we are excited is an understatement. I spend pretty much every second sitting there thinking about where i am going to put stuff where i am going to sit and watch tele be it the drivers swivel seat and put my feet up. You know the really important stuff. I must have spent £10,000 in my head thinking of all the little amendments i want to make to it. IE Air con, getting some additional electric points put in, external BBQ point, maxview roam X, honestly the list goes on.

We got to Pillaton about 11:30 as we had to nip to the dentist to get Lisa’s retainer removed so we headed down straight after that. It is just off J13 of the M6 so it is not too far to get too and also gives us a decent head start to get to Devon on Sunday afternoon. By the time we had set up my brother in law had arrived and he was planning on going straight fishing so i picked up a couple of beers for us all and dragged one of my nice new chairs there by the side of the water. There is something i find so relaxing sitting by the waters edge. I could just do it whether fishing or not.

The fishing is quite good here but it is even better at Cofton. That is probably one of my favourite places on earth. There is just something about it. I cannot quite put my finger on it but we have been going now for probably 8 or 9 years. There was a period of a couple of years when i was doing 2 months a year down there would plan for a week but end up going on a Wednesday night and fishing for an extra couple of days. ANyway before we get too excited for Devon we have 2 nights here to look forward. The weasther report i spretty good so hopefully get away with no putting hte awning up only the Sun Canopy.
