This was it! The big one, the day we came here for!! Big Graeme’s birthday, we returned the home made birthday card gesture with the piece of paper folded in half, on Gees i drew a Vespa, a tagine and a hearing aid. We all met up for breakfast at about 10am. The plan was simple, a nice big hearty breakfast, which for me consists usually of cocoa pops, pancakes and crepes. A champions breakfast, even if i do say so myself. We then headed down towards the pool, but i always go straight back to the room to get my head down for a bit longer in the cool. The only guaranteed nap of the day for Rory comes after his breakfast so i always try and capitalise. Also, there are massive beds in the room and 3 movies channels in English so it was nice to watch a film and watch any sort pf tv as its been ages since we have done that.
I don’t normally make an appearance until midday-ish fully revitalised and ready for the day ahead. The weather forecast for the next few days here is absolutely outrageous. 33+ degrees which by my maths is about 13 degrees too hot. I was getting hungry again so i went up for dinner, i thought if i have a big dinner and a light tea i wont have to worry about getting heart burn. They had this amazing chicken with sesame seeds and like this rich sauce that was a bit like a red wine sauce. ALl the chicken is on the bones here which is a bit of a pain but i hacked the system and got the chicken breast from a different counter and drenched it in sauce, i was then getting pizza and drizzling the sauce on it. It was amazing. I ate soi much of it.
We had spoken to the animation team and had arranged that Graeme would be called up on stage, so they called him up and they sang happy birthday to him in 3 languages. Arabic, English and French. I only understood one, strangely enough but they had a show on after where they sang all the classics from around the continent. Fair play to the animation team here they are a busy lot, always walking around, getting people involved a really good bunch, really polite, not clicky at all. I have really enjoyed my time here so far, and plan on enjoying my last day tomorrow
