I cannot believe how quickly our time in Morocco is drawing to a close, i think i have mentioned it a few times but we have been here for 3 months and it is mad how quick it has gone. I don’t think i could be here permanently as the flies and mosquitos would wear me down in the end. Also, as a meat eater there is not enough variety for me out here. There is only so much chicken and stuff. I do miss sausage, bacon and ham. As i have mentioned my next stint in Morocco will be planned totally different knowing my duration here. A few things i wouldnt come back with out is things like a proper fridge/ freezer, enough lager to sink the Bismarck, 6 bottles of HP sauce, loads of bacon, ham and sausages, electric cooking device like a heat plate, slow cooker and an air fryer. My camp next year will be absolutely bad ass. It will be a home from home.
The challenging part is to try and have 2 plans, a plan for if we come back in the campervan or if we come back in a Motorhome. In a motorhome i would want someone to make for me a safari tent for the sun canopy. The one Mohammed made for Ken and Jack-eh was fantastic and would ideal as an additional outdoor space. I am looking forward to coming back but i am ready to get back into Europe but overall i am extremely impressed with how long we have stuck it out. In a motorhome i would definitely explore more as we would have an inside space to work from if the weather was bad or too hot outside. I would like to spend a bit of time in the desert or in the atlas mountains. Thinking about it there is so much we haven’t seen.
One of the things i have loved most about Morocco is how it has brough so many different types of people together with the only thing we have in common is being from the UK. There is obviously Ness and Gee which when we leave there company will be a massive culture shock and a very sad day for us. They have been makeshift Nan and Grandad for the beef and we have been eternally grateful for all the fun times we have had with them. But the list goes one Mel, Alan, Ken, Jack-eh, John and Manda, Richard and Jan, Bryan and Tracey, Jon and Anne and most recently Julie and Ian and so many more that we have met. It has brought us all together and we have loved it and we cannot wait to come back again.
We published our plans for the next 12 months as well tonight and that went down really well. Well, what we have pencilled in, if Morocco has taught us anything it is that don’t make plans too long into the future because you never know how much you love or hate a place, or a bit of both.
