I have never been so happy to get off a boat, it has made me totally revisit my travel plans through Europe. I don’t know if i could ever get that ferry again. It was awful. Literally awful. I think next time i would get the St Malo ferry from Portsmouth and drive some of France. I suppose what has made this worse is the nature of the rush to get here and by getting that ferry it opened up the chance to get us to Morocco by Friday.
We got woken up by an alarm on the ferry at 5:45 which was some very soft music playing but we were docked and ready to get off by 08:00 and we have one hell of a days worth of driving to do today. The plan will be to put Algeciras in the Sat Nav and see how close i can get to it. Seville is a decent 2nd alternative to get to. Seville leaves us with 2 hours of driving to Algeciras. So off we set first time driving in Spain for 6 months but i will tell you one thing i felt so ill still i just couldn’t shake it off.
The problem wasn’t driving the problem was when we were standing still. I first noticed it when we stopped to get some breakfast about 10am and I was in the queue for food and then I felt it, it was like I was on the ship again and i felt myself swaying but i wasn’t moving but in my head i was. I am quite weak stomached when it comes to motion which is why I have retired from roller coasters etc. I was sick at Camper Jam for going on a ride with the Dodge. It carried on again when we stopped off for tea later on in the day. At about 8pm we pulled into a supermarket in Seville to get some bits and as I walked into it I felt myself go again and I felt really sick so i had to turn around and head back to the Moho and lie down. I was planning to drive into Algeciras tonight but i just couldn’t stomach it and i went to sleep to try and sleep it off. The ferry is not as bad as this long sea sickness that I’m suffering from now.
