Was gutted to leave Cofton today but with the weather on the way in there is never a better time to leave somewhere than when there is a weather warning. There is supposed to horrific rain on the way so lets head north back to gods country (Stoke On Trent). We are staying on my sisters drive way until Sunday where we will probably have a night at A and E Leisure so we can say good bye to people again before he head off for a while.
It felt so nice only putting 209 miles into the sat nav rather than 600 miles and having trips that should only take 4 hours rather than 9 hours or more. We were really lucky and we had no stops for traffic or no bad weather it was one of those absolutely seamless drives where everything goes in your favour. I think the only time the wheels stopped completely was when we had gotten off the M6 to get onto the A500. Apart from that a steady 60mph through Birmingham and everything.
We were fortunate enough to get back at a decent enough time so we got to see my nephews and Daisy the dog before they all went to bed. It has been great to see them and the Beef absolutely loved the attention. He just loves dogs and because Daisy is such a fluffy dog he loves it even more although we spend several minutes trying to keep the fur out of his hand, feet and mouth. It was nice to be able to put his down on the floor and have 5 minutes whilst someone watches him. That is one thing with being away that you miss is not being able to switch off.
