Diary Entry – 12th September 2023

I do a late on a Monday and a Tuesday so this is my last late of week. Due to the time difference a late for me is 12:30 until 21:00 instead of 11:30 till 20:00. So it is a bit strange because by the time you have finished it is pretty much time for bed by the time you have had 5 minutes with the Beef. I suppose it is only the same as a normal commute really. I still definitely have a far greater work life balance working remotely although it is a bit lonely.

As it edges closer we are starting to have one eye on after the NEC. Well to be fair October is going to be one of those months again that we just seem to be so busy. We leave this site on the 29th September i believe with the intention of spending about a week to get back into the UK. SO have a really slow potter up France and try and stay new Normandy as we missed it on the way back. Then get the Chunnel or ferry to Dover the following weekend and then have a week on a campsite somewhere in the North West ready for having 2 weeks off in which time we will be doing 2 talks on 2 of the days. Whilst doing talks for 2 of the days i will be working on the Outdoor Revolution stand talking about awnings and wind breaks. As soon as the show finishes on the Sunday then it will be try and get the chunnel Sunday night or early Monday morning and making our way to Morocco. In an ideal situation i want to drive France on the Monday, Spain on the Tuesday, ferry to Morocco on the Wednesday and get to Agadir on the Thursday. That is one hell of a lot of driving but as soon as we get there and get set the sooner i can relax and try and enjoy some of the remaining time off. This is how my mind works, i can either drive 8 hours for 5 days or 12 hours for 3 1/2 days and i would rather plough on and get there ASAP.

I am really looking forward to getting back to Morocco. It will be interesting to see how it has changed since May and i just hope everyone is ok from the earth quake. I do hope that people recognise us there. There are a few specifically. The guy on the security barrier at Atlantica Park, always smiling, the girl from the Boulangerie she was always so nice to Lisa and the Beef when ever they went up there. One Ear and Boris. I think once we get on site it will be one of the first things we do is to try and find Boris. I will be really nervous but hopefully we find him straight away and he recognises us and comes and follows us back so we can start to feed and flea him again. Rather than him not being there and then having to look for him for a number of days. I am assuming there will be many French people there by that point so hopefully he is being looked after. We always check in with the campsite and they always say he is fine but i am not sure they really check on him.
