D-Day!! In what has been such a happy day but ended up with me absolutely on the verge of having a meltdown. We have loads going on with the Moho today. Air con, shower being sealed, leaf spring table, curtain rail at the cab re-done, re cleaned. SO they wanted the Moho in the work shop by 8am so that meant an early start for Lisa as it needed to be empty so she headed off to Northwich to do some shopping at Next, Home Bargains and £ stretcher. You know, all the pre road trip essential places.
Throughout the work day today i had to check the big Cadac was still working, empty the garage, re stock the garage. We have decided to take a spare 11kg propane Flo Gas with us. We want to try and live as thriftily as possible so it we have to spend a lot of time in free park ups etc i want to make sure we always have gas. Gas is absolutely critical. We couldn’t live without gas so hopefully now we should have enough to see us through the next few months.
After work we went to say good bye to my Mum and my Nan. Was a bit emotional, no one likes seeing there Mum upset but given the current situation it makes it 10 times worse. We set off from Stoke about 19:30pm and the drive should have been 4 hours. So we thought midnight would be about when we would be getting our heads down, We don’t do more than 55 miles per hour as we are never in a rush and and i want to keep the MPG as high as possible. We didn’t hit any traffic until just north of the Dartford crossing we were then stuck in a traffic jam for 2.5 hours where we moved 1 mile. It was horrendous. So we finally got to Folkestone at 3am and we had brought our ferry forward last night to 06:24 meaning we had to be up and boarding at 05:24….. tomorrow was going to be a hard day!
