Diary Entry – 19th April 2023

Another tough day in paradise today the weather last week or so has been ideal for us. About 25 degrees but cloudy occasionally and it just breaks the sun up. I have mentioned before today that the heat makes Lisa a bit grumpy and especially as we a re trying to watch our weights a little bit. Vanlife has a funny old way of making you put weight on. We had made 2 sun panels for our sun canopy and having that o makes a massive difference as well as the sun is never directly on the side of the camper so it keeps it cooler from the off and obviously the shade. We looked the Thule safari tent panels up and they were about £800 and i am not for one second saying that these are Thule quality for for what we have needed they have been excellent and in total cost us £48 for a sun panel with a window and a curtain and the length ways panel with a door. Incredible value!

We are an hour behind so when i finish at 3pm Morocco time it still leaves with me with plenty of time left in the day to get stuff done and get about. There is a 5km promenade here which stretch from the bottom of our campsite right the way to Taghazout. As it is right on the beach front the breeze keeps it nice and cool. I have done it a few times now over the weeks and one time I ended walking 14kms in an attempt to buy some find somewhere to have an alcoholic beverage. In Morocco I have found myself in a number of very strange environments on the hunt for beer, with some being on the black market. Needs must sometimes.

One of the hotels which is called the Hyatt Regency has a beach bar about 3kms of the way to Tag so i have since stopped going all the way because i call in there for 1, which turns into four and then i turn back home. They are charged at 70dh which in real money is £5.60 so as you can imaginer for a 33cl bottle of beer is a lot. I will have to go to London for a cheaper pint. To be fair there is not many better things than sitting in the sun with a cold beer listening to the sea. Agadir is a beautiful place it really is.
