Diary Entry – 05th March 2023

We are all very lucky that i do this in the evening and not in the morning. What an absolute palaver. SO we rushed around like maniacs this morning to be ready for 7am, bearing in mind we have a baby and we had to pack a load of stuff we were there ready at 07:03, i was made up, well chuffed! The bloody mini bus never turned up! SO we were shoved in a taxi to get to a pick up point. By this point everyone else was on the bus meaning all the prime real estate was gone. We were on first so we managed to get some ok seats but Gee and Ness were at the back next to some giant and they were packed right in. They were not happy. I think Gee at one point was looking to try and get a taxi back to the camp he was that pissed off.

Like i mentioned before i had paid my money and i was going to enjoy no matter what it takes. We were sat behind the worlds most miserable French woman, she was just so horrid. She constantly scowled and had wild hair like Wurzel Gummage. The old bag! Anyway off we set and i have to say what a spectacular place Morocco is. It has some of the most incredible scenery. We went up a mountain pass call Tizi’NTchinka which was a road built in the 1930s by the French army to to link southern Morocco to the north through the atlas mountains. It followed an old Caravan path. We then headed further and further into the desert and came to a place called Bouleman Dades which again was spectacular. Included in our £80 per person cost was a stop in a hotel with food. The hotel was a 2* but it was nice enough, another night where i had managed to had managed to locate some beers.

The money included food and you may or may not be surprised to know that i was Tagine, again. I like sauce and sometimes they come out dry as you like with a load of veg that i don’t like. Some have been really nice, some have been crap. But certainly over the last couple of days I’m all Tagine’d out. Tomorrow we are heading further into the desert where we will aim for a place called Merzouga and a desert camp, camel ride etc. I’m looking forward to that. It is almost a full moon to which should be really bright as well.
