What a day today was…. Lisa from the previous night had gotten a contact lens stuck in here eye so we had to go out this morning to find an opticians to try and get it out. We looked on google maps and there was one that was about 3 miles away so only a 15 minute drive away. So we packed the van down and headed to the Opticians. The good thing was it was next to a Marjane so we thought as we were planning on staying here for a few nights we would do a shop as well. On our way out we asked our pals from next door if they wanted anything and they returned with an extensive list. A proper English person abroad list which consisted of beer, mayo, onions and lactose free milk. We tackled the roads and to be fair i am definitely getting more accustomed to the whole Moroccan road thing. We got there and sorted out the eyes. We went into the Marjane and had a Moroccan McDonalds. Very very nice indeed, every country that we have had a McDonalds at has been better than the UK. The problem then was that Marjanes don’t sell alcohol. We checked our beloved Google maps and it was only a few mile to Carrefour and they definitely sell booze so we decided to get back in the camper and head to a booze selling shop.
There were 3 Carrefours within 4 miles so we headed to the closest one, but that was on the main high street of Marrakesh, onto the next one, no car park again so we had pretty driven through the high street of Marrakesh looking for a shop with a car park. We got one in the end and it was massive, every supermarket seems to have an electrical store in it. But we managed to get everything on the list. Plus some bits for us, we drove back to the site and once again we drove pretty much around the whole medina of Marrakesh and the traffic again was a bit wild, but as i mentioned i am becoming more acclimatised to it so it is becoming normalised now.
As the night was drawing in we popped the light on and started cooking fajitas and we arranged for the neighbours to come around after we had eaten, as id had a couple of beers i decided to postpone eating and put the fajitas to one side for dinner tomorrow. As i was cooking i sore a english number plate and it was a crafter and i said to Lisa “look babe it is a crafter” as we have been looking at them if we decide to get a new van. The window went down and i thought it was going to be someone saying hello as we were English. However it was 25% of the original Morocco Red Wine Club, Owen! I was buzzing to see him and he had tales of Marrakesh including his rendezvous with a Moroccan girl from Tinder. We then sat down and have Storks, Sam Miguels and Ness and Graeme came round also, had a great night. It was fantastic. A really great night.
Sounds like you’ve cracked it now!!
Enjoy😍😍
