Had a low key day today. I had the most amazing shower ever, the showers here are quality. It is amazing how the little things proper get you excited when you spend so much time on the road. The showers had a hot and a cold tap, it wasnt a button that you had to keep on pressing. The water was nice and warm, i just stood in it for a bout 15 minutes just trying to cleanse my soul. I think i have mentioned before but living in a van you have to compromise on how much you actually shower, and there is only so many times you can use wipes. So to get under a good pressured shower with plenty of warm water was a very pleasant experience. It had rained briefly over night and was cloudy when we woke up which was a rare suprise, driving through Lisbon yesterday was the first time we had seen a cloud in 8 days since Braga.
We went for a walk into Albufeira to have a look around, i wasnt overly impressed by it all to be honest. I may be being harsh or whatever but you always hear about the Algarve being really nice, i suppose i will find out in the coming days. One thing that i did notice was the difference in price that 1 bour south makes. We paid 15 euros for a mojito today and we had only ever paid up to 8 before. BREAKING NEWS!! I managed to find squash!! So i am going to try and drink more water, it has been so hard to find over here and this was the first time. I have been living off full fat coke.
Have spent about an hour today on the phone to Adrian FLux trying to sort insurance out for Morocoo, i really didnt want to have to go 3rd party only bit i have paid extra to be covered comprehensive. The downside is that it wont cover and they wouldnt cover at all Western Sahara which is a gutter but that is one of those things i suppose. I can always get 3rd party whilst i am there for WS, even if it is only for a few days. I think to get to Morocco and not try and go further south than the Canaries would be a missed opportunity!! There are even park ups in Mauritia as well, but then where do you draw the line, we will end up in Somalia at this rate. My appetite for risk is increasing which i thought it would to be honest. I am just loving this adventure! Rich
