Another wildly productive day, we were up and out of the camper by 9am in search of a cafe that had some decent enough internet. We found one, called Fradinho it was lovely. I’ll tell you one thing, they love a cake in Portugal. On the way to the cafe we called in to the Mafra Palace. It was visible from the camper door as well. Some facts I learnt for a Vlog… voted in Portugals 7 wonders, took 40 years to build, avg 15000 workers at any one time, 27th largest palace in the world, 1470 windows, 29 internal gardens, etc etc. it was big!!
After breakfast we went back to the camper to pack up as we were heading off again this time we were planning to stay at Cabo de Roca. Before we headed off and after we had packed the camper down we headed back down to the palace for a look inside. That was really good, 6 euros each and it was worth it to see the library alone. We headed off then to The Rock, which is the most western point of continental Europe and the sun sets over the Atlantic. But as we had been coming down this coast we had seen the sun set loads so was more interested in just visiting. Just so we could say we visited.
After we took some photos we decided against staying there as it was like a wind tunnel so headed for caiscais a municipality further down. There’s obviously a lot of money here, you can always tell by the cars. We had headed for a park up just by The mouth of hell but as we turned into the car park we got turned away by an old man. So had to try and find another stop over. After another failed attempt somewhere else we found a car park and set up for the night. It was a peculiar looking place. A bit weird it is.
