I am absolutely knackered, took the wee guy on a big walk this morning so Lisa could write a blog. We ended walking the 3 mile trek into Nazare. The only problem with walking 3 miles away is that you have to walk 3 miles back. I was gone from maybe 9 until 11 ish but dusted off a cheeky 6 mile walk. Then fed Rory and walked back into Nazare again with Lisa. The important point is that it was worth it.
The fort was fantastic, so was the lighthouse and I had a few bottles of Super Bock as well which is always nice. The walk down to the fort was almost vertical, I’m exaggerating but it was steep and having walked down it and back up I didn’t fancy walking it again. You can pay 2 euros per person and get a lift up. It was worth every cent. It was also a good laugh. It was in a 1980s military style Jeep. The guy had to thrash it up in 2nd gear else it wasn’t getting up there. I really liked Nazare.
I was chuffed with that as this was one place I’d ear marked as a stop over. The waves are pish though. Iv seen bigger waves in the bath. But that’s life, we are just trying to plan our next few days, we are behind schedule, trying to get a price for comprehensive insurance in Morocco before we book the ferry. Going to really try and make a conscious effort to stay in free park ups from now. No more campsites unless desperate for washing etc. Going to crank up the Vanlife-ometer. I’m going sleep now, over 25k steps.
