White Rabbits!! Welcome to February!! The good news is the Wee Man slept straight through the night which was a welcome treat for 3 nights of waking up and needing a bottle. Well, we assume he needed a bottle as he was taking a full bottle but it could as well just be his teeth that are troubling him. We are planning on having a thrifty February, so that’s no eating out, food planning etc. We have had a fantastic January and done what we wanted the whole time so it is not about getting some discipline back else we will be home in May ha ha ha. We are planning on trying to do a bit more exploring as well, we are going to x the routine up a bit. So whilst Rory is having his first bottle at 8ish the other person is to get ready to go and when he has a half way pit stop to burp etc the other one gets ready so once he has finished his bottle and is due a nap we can travel to our destination for that day so we are making the most from our day, what we have been doing is getting ready once he is down and sleeping after his first bottle but hen by the time we were done and ready he was stirring looking for his next bottle so we were not arriving anywhere until the earlyu afternoon and when it is going dark and cold by 6pm ish that doesn’t leave a lot of the day left.
We have been to a wonderful place today called Aveiro, it is classed as Portugals Venice which is a bit peculiar as it only has 2 canals. Although, it does have heaps and heaps of history, mostly around fish and salt. They love Salt here. We did something i had always wanted to do and that was to ride a Tuk Tuk, well i didn’t ride it we were given a tour in one and then had a boat ride up and down the canals. Rory slept like a baby, literally though the Tuk Tuk and cried some of the boat. However apart from that he had a very very good day. Aveiro was a lovely place, quite commercialised and felt like a lot of other European cities i have been to in the past, people on street stalls trying to push boat trips on you and other stuff like that. But a lovely old and stunningly pretty place architecturally.
Our plan to be thrifty didn’t fare well, we ate out twice and did a big shop at Lidl, but from now we are going to be thrifty. They sell bottles of wine here for 2 Euros, i’m surprised i haven’t seen more jakeys to be honest. I can probably count on 1 hand how many iv seen since we have been travelling around. Having a tidy the camper day tomorrow before we head further south down to Nazare i got told off the other day for pronouncing it incorrectly it is pronounced Naz -Ar – E (Naz-R-A). Started looking up the wave forecast for Nazare but dont look very big, will be gutted if they are pants, really want to see some big big waves. Pretty much the whole reason to go there!! TIme will tell, think the weather can change pretty fast on that Atlantic coast. Fingers crossed.
A cool place just outside Lisbon is Sintra !
Is it good? X
