Diary Entry – 31st December 2022

These days just seem to fly by at the moment. Literally as soon as we wake it seems to be going dark again. The winter is awful for that, just seems to be dark all the time. Annoys me. Another good day today things just seem to be falling into place, I have done some manly DIY stuff. I am the most un-DIY person in the world, I literally have no idea what i am doing. We had yet another delivery at my Nans, they must be getting sick of it now, i am sure my Nan must be. We had a TV bracket that clips onto my head rest so we can use the TV, even better than that, it works with the Jackery. The Jackery has come into its own tonight, we had hoped that the Tommy Tippee bottle thingy was going to work on the Jackery but it doesn’t so we bought another Dr Brown gizmo and i am delighted to announce that the Jackery powers it to sterilise. I am amazed though at how much power the thing draws. We have not used it for a bottle warming yet but sterilising bottles was a bit of a pain in the neck without it. Jackery saves the day!!

2 sleeps left until we set off and tomorrow is our final full day before we go. When i say it like that it seems awfully scary, constantly thinking about what things have i forgot to pack, or what scenario I haven’t planned for, I suppose the most important thing for me is that he always has warm milk. I don’t mind going without as long as “The Beef” gets fed. Lisa finished the where next blog post and it is a work of art, I don’t know what i would do without her. She is far more intelligent than me. Here is the blog – https://onlyvanslife.uk/2022/12/where-to-next/ If you scroll to the bottom you can vote on where we travel to after we leave the Schengen.

My new favourite pass time is looking at park ups on Park4Nights, we have seen some looking over Sarajevo, Bosnia for some reason is one of those places I’m really keen to get to, i just love history and the thought of being in places like Sarajevo, which was under siege for 440+ days that is 4x longer than Stalingrad. Or Srebrenica where there was a genocide in Europe within the last 30 or so years. But even further than that, it was the birth place of the 1st world war as it was Sarajevo where the Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. To be able to stand in places like that is really exciting to me
