Diary Entry – 25th September 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Happy hump day! The days are flying by and flying through, we are not quite at the knowing exactly how many days we have left or working days but all i know is that it is 4 weeks on Friday is my last day in the shop and i take A and E with me into Africa and keep my finger on the pulse online. I am getting very very excited and to be honest if it hadn’t of been for events that have unfolded here over the last month or so we would have been leaving on the 2nd October but that may have been pushing our budget and stuff to the limit. I think 6 months away will be enough.

Most of the time by the time it is time to come back i am absolutely ready to come back and get back into the swing of it. I don’t see that being any different next year when we are due to come back. I just get ready to move on, but we plan on having some more weekends away and perhaps using our usual bolt hole as a base and we will have the awning up and all the stuff in there but there we will be able to go away for weekend. I have a few things on my hit list this time, places like Sidi Ifni and Tafraoute and go and see the painted rocks and stuff like that.

We still have so much to see and to be honest it is my favorite place around is Morocco and i would move there if i could but it would just be the motorhome that would be the problem as wouldn’t be able to keep it there for more than 6 months in a calendar year. I just want to win the lottery first then i can worry about all of those minor details, still got the dream of the Campsite over there or i have had another Dragons Den idea. Well it is not quite a Dragons Den idea but still another idea we have about what we want to do in the years to come.

My plan is to have little plots of land dotted around the country with honesty box’s and have them as Motorhome/ Campervan Aires. There wont be facilities but it will be somewhere safe for people to park with a bin. Ideally located in the best places like in Scotland, some on the outer islands and on the NC500 route. Try and have 7 or 8 different places all with a QR code and a sign on to book in for parking then you don’t have to police them all the time. I just think with that also gives you options of places you can stay yourself when you fancy a little bit of time away.
