Diary Entry – 23rd November 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Well it has been so incredibly hot today and yesterday and when i say hot i mean really really hot. I often joke about Mum by saying anything over 14 degrees in Scotland is BBQ weather and how she has a relatively low tolerance to weather above 16 degrees but this has been something else. The heat has been stifling and everyone you speak be it local or not is commenting on how hot it is, But wait it gets worse, but i will come onto that a little bit later on! As it was so hot we decided that we were going to take the little man down to the beach quite early today to try and get a few hours under our belt before it gets too hot.

Think by the time we had all had breakfast and stuff we were down there for about 10am which is good going for us as we normally aim for 10 and end up leaving at 1pm. There is no greater motivation for Mum than trying to avoid the heat and it doesn’t get to the warmest part of the day until say 2 or 3pm. As we were walking back to the motorhome having let the Beef run himself ragged we walked past the Fegan’s and he just looked as though he was melting and i could see a bottle of cold beer by his side. He then let out the infamous words “Its just too hot so the only thing to do is to get on it”.

We didnt stay there for a long just had a beer then made our way back to the motorhome. We are only 3 down from them. They are struggling at the moment because there air conditioning has packed up and there is nothing worse than having something you desperately need but it doesn’t work and it is there as a constant reminder. That’s the situation they are in as it just packed up in Salamanca and boy is our conditioning getting some use at the moment and how people are coping without it. I mean this whole heartedly i would never ever have a leisure vehicle again without air conditioning.

We were used by the Fegan’s and they came and sat in our motorhome all afternoon whilst we had the air conditioning on its maximum setting and we just chatted the afternoon away with ice cold beverages and air con. We even managed to watch the Stoke game on the fire stick and we have rather enjoyed using the Starlink out here so far and it has been working excellently and on our existing plan as well which is very good and although £96 is a bit steep being to access the internet at high speed anywhere with unlimited internet has been a real benefit rather than wrestling with everyone one else on the Wi-Fi once it goes dark.

As it got further and further into the evening it got windier and windier and it has been probably as windy as i have ever known it be here. And with the wind as is so often the case here the wind is really warm. Making for an extremely disturbed sleep.
