Diary Entry – 22nd November 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Managed a 5k today in the blistering heat, my idea is to try and walk when it is hot and sunny to try and sweat more but also to try and get a bit of a tan at the same time. I refuse to put up with the same grief that i got when i got back in April this year where all i heard was “thought you’d been to Africa for 6 months” and saying that i had been to Antarctica instead. So killing 3 birds with one stone in i get to lose 500 calories which covers my bread intake for the day.

The starry night (Morning) sky!

It gets me in the sun a bit and it also gets him out of the motorhome and gets him some fresh air as well. I set off about 1pm today and strategically meant that he fell asleep a couple of hours earlier to see if that would mean that he slept better or if he would go to bed earlier. The only thing is that we didn’t end up being in the motorhome at the usual time as we decided to follow the Fegan’s and go for some profiteroles. In the restaurant at the bottom i would never normally have a desert but the Fegans went a little while ago and absolutely raved about them so when we went for tea the other day we decided to give them a go. I am not normally a desert kind of guy but my god these were good.

I’d floated the idea of going for some sunset profits (as they are now called by the cool kids) but initially they declined because Kel was cooking some Teriyaki chicken but i got a WhatsApp about an hour later from Mand saying “Don’t tell him but Kelly’s amazing dinner … wasn’t up to much so I’m thinking profiteroles”. So that was all the excuse we needed so we ended getting out and heading down to the restaurant. We just missed sunset but i had a milk shake and some profits and they, again were very very good.

After the food we decided to take a stroll down the front and we don’t tend to walk down there much at night because we are usually tucked up in bed or by the motorhome doing stuff on the laptops. What is crazy is that it seems just as pretty in the night time as it does in the day. But as it is quieter outside the sea always sounds louder and we can still hear the sea from our motorhome from this pitch as well. Although it sounded like there was a Moroccan drum band playing last night until about 10:30 it was a good job in the end that we didn’t try and get him down any earlier
