Welcome to todays diary entry! It is so surreal to think that 2 weeks ago this guys wouldn’t go anywhere without knowing that he had a dummy in our person so if he needed it he could have it but the fact is that since he had that cold he has totally gone off dummy’s and we have thrown them all out and he is literally dummy free. It looks as though that cold was worth it after all. So he just goes to sleep now and literally hasn’t mentioned the dummy word in over 2 or 3 weeks. I would never have guessed that it would happen like that. We were planning on on trading his dummy for Christmas presents and saying that Santa has taken them.
Be interesting to see if this Saturday is any busier as there has been a noticeable shift in the footfall in the last 2 weeks and i have only worked one other Saturday in September due to Busfest but the overall sentiment is that the footfall is certainly down which you would expect but it still cuts deep when it happens. It is funny really, and me and the Dodge always joke about it. How we can still be surprised by it when it quietens down in September and still be shocked by it although it happens every single year in exactly the same way.

Overall it was quiet which was good because i have started to alternate the Saturdays off now to let the guys have a full weekend off and it was Kian’s turn this Saturday to have it off as he helped me out by working this Wednesday when it was his day off whilst i was at Stoneleigh so as a reward he got the Saturday off and it will be Gaz’s next Saturday to get the day off. So trying to get in the staff good books before i leave. A bit like politics really be tough in the beginning and towards the end of my term i start being extremely nice so that is peoples lasting memory.
We have finally got the Cabbunk out to have a play with we are due to get his bedding for it tomorrow so this will be his last night in his old bed and hopefully he will be good in it. But with the new bed comes a whole new wave of problems for example he has always been floor height before so to go from floor height to being up there and then being able to fall off, so i am worried about it being in the dark and worried about him being too high up and stuff so no doubt that will keep me up but i have some ideas around motion sensor lights and stuff so that if he moves the lights come on. That should mean that if he tries to climb out the lights will be on.
